CoachPal Privacy Policy

At CoachPal, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle the information collected through our application ("CoachPal", the "App").
1. Information We Collect
We collect and process the following information locally on your device:
- Garmin Connect Credentials: Your username and password used to authenticate and sync your data with Garmin.
- Health and Fitness Metrics: Steps, activities, heart rate, sleep duration, heart rate variability (HRV), stress levels, and other fitness data retrieved from your Garmin account.
- User Profile: Your name, age, weight, height, sex, work schedule, training preferences, and fitness goals.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to:
- Sync and visualize your fitness metrics inside the App dashboard.
- Generate customized coaching prompts. These prompts summarize your fitness history and profile, allowing you to copy and paste them into third-party AI models (like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Grok) for coaching advice.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored (On-Device Storage)
YOUR FITNESS DATA AND PROFILE STAY ON YOUR DEVICE. We do not host, store, or process your fitness metrics or profile on our own remote servers.
- Your Garmin Connect credentials are saved securely in your device's secure hardware keychain (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android) using encryption.
- Your local profile and synced fitness data are stored in a local database (Hive) on your device.
4. Sharing Data with Third Parties
- Garmin: We connect directly to Garmin's servers to sync your data. We do not share your credentials with any other third party.
- AI Models (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.): You choose to share your health data with AI models by copying the generated prompt and pasting it into their interfaces. We do not automatically send your health data to third-party AI providers without your direct action.
- Analytics and Crash Reporting: We may use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to monitor app stability. This data is aggregated and does not contain personal health metrics or credentials.
- Subscription Management: Subscription status is verified securely via RevenueCat, which does not access your personal health data.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
You have complete control over your data:
You can log out of Garmin Connect or clear all app data from the Settings screen at any time. Doing so will permanently delete your credentials, local database, and profile from your device.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be reflected in the App with an updated effective date.
